Seoul K-medi Center: footbath, bed massage and more

Updated: Aug 24, 2021

As part of Allimi program 2021 I have the chance to visit Seoul K-medi Center (서울한방진흥센터) located at Yangnyeonsi Jegi-dong. The place is know for Korean Herb Medicine so the streets are fulfilled with medicinal herb shops and different Korean traditional medicine products. We visited the place during a rainy summer day so we arrived there with out clothes all wet.

We had the reservation for 3 types of experiences: herbal foot bath as well as Bojewon room experience including the thermomassage bed, hand and foot massage.

Due to weather we had to wait a bit till the rain was slowing down as the foot bath massage room is located on a veranda outside so we took our time to visit the K-medi Museum.

The museum promotes and exhibit different types of ingredients the Korean traditional medicine is using and also some miniatures of traditional herb villages.

Also they have interactive displays where you can do a mini-test so you can find out what type of body type you have. I did mine and came out to be "Taeeum-in 태음인" and I got emailed on my address the type of diet and ingredients I should have for my body type which I found really interesting.

After we visited the museum, finally as the rained stopped we went for our first experiences, aroma therapy herb foot bath.

By the time we arrived to the veranda the weather got so nice, just in time for a relaxing foot massage. Each of us had one spot with a small bath tube with hot water and herb pack inside where we could relax our tired feet for 20 minutes.

After the foot bath, we dry our feet with a paper tower and we used the foot mist to refresh our skin.

After the foot bath we moved to the 3rd floor for the next experience, the Bojewon room.

In this room we experience 3 types of massages.

First the thermomassage bed. This was a funny experience, as you could feel, while laying down, that somebody is playing drums on your whole body.

After our body was whole aggressively got massaged we moved to the legs and hands massage tables where each table had one legs massage machine were we put our legs and one hand massage plus gloves which had cream inside them to moisture our hands while we were getting the massage.

After the Bojewon room experience, we could take some beautiful photos on the museum open veranda with a great view.

Experience fee: 5,000 won

Address: 26 Yangnyeongjungang-ro, Jegi-dong, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul
