Busan for World Expo 2030

Busan is bidding for World Expo in 2030. World Expo is an important international event along with the Olympics and World Cup.

The World Expo or International Registered Exhibitions first started back in 1851 in London and as the event had a mass popularity was repeated across the globe. It officially became regulated in 1928 when the Bureu International des Expositions(BIE) was created. Each 5 years, the World Expo takes place in one city chosen across the globe under a specific theme.

The Word Expo 2025 will be held in Japan, Osaka, Kansai province and Busan is aiming to be the host for the Expo in 2030.

Busan was confirmed as a national project in May 2019 and the Bid Planning Office for World Expo 2030 Busan was founded in November 2019.

The Bid for Busan to be chosen in 2030 as the World Expo host city falls under the main theme “Transforming Our World, Navigating Toward a Better Future”. Under this motto there are three sub-themes concentrating on Planet, Prosperity and People:

Planet through Sustainable Living with Nature which aims to form a platform for developing solution for solving the problems caused by climate changes and nature degradation due to economic development and fast industrialization.

Prosperity through Technology for Humanity which concentrates on finding ways of developing and using the technology for helping our future and also finding solution for certain social issues.

The last but not least the People through Platform for Caring and Sharing "People" by discussing ways to solve and address various inequalities among humans for a better future.

As myself I think Busan is a really developed and fun city and I visited myself over 7 times during my life in Korea I can say as facilities and environment, Busan is fit to hold the World Expo 2030 as the city has experience in holding various international exhibition during the years including: The 4th and 9th largest MICE city in Asia and the world respectively (Source: UIA Statistics – 2017), Outstanding talent and exhibition infrastructure (BEXCO)

International Conference Complex designated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (2020) as well as International Events:2002 FIFA World Cup & Asian Games,

2005 APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting, 2014 & 2019 ASEAN-ROK Commemorative Summit.

Also Busan is a grea place to visit as well, from it's amazing seaside view of Taejeong-dae
